We conducted an online survey with feed experts, aiming to discover if they are calculating the CO2 impact of feed in their mixtures or daily rations. The insights gathered shed light on the current state of awareness and adoption of such practices.
57% of respondents indicated that they do not currently calculate the CO2 impact of their feed formulations. This suggests that a significant portion of the industry may not yet prioritize or have the tools necessary for integrating environmental impact assessments into their daily operations.
22% reported that they are actively calculating the CO2 impact of their feed mixtures and rations. This group represents the forward-thinking segment of the industry that is already incorporating sustainability metrics into their feed formulation processes, highlighting the growing trend towards eco-conscious practices.
20% of respondents expressed plans to begin calculating the CO2 impact in the near future. This indicates a rising awareness and a shift towards adopting more sustainable practices, reflecting a positive trend towards environmental responsibility in feed formulation.
The survey results highlight a mix of current practices and future intentions regarding CO2 impact calculations in feed formulation. While the majority are not yet incorporating these metrics, the significant percentages of those who are or plan to soon suggest a growing trend towards sustainability.
